Lawrence Lee Carpenter, 93, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019 at Meadow View of Greeley. Lawrence was born April 8, 1925 in Miller, South Dakota, a son of the late William and Mary Ella (Robertson) Carpenter. Lawrence enlisted in the United State Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific. He married Marion (Lottine) in Crookston, Minnesota on March 21, 1948. Lawrence worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years doing construction in Wyoming and Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion and was the 35th member to sign up for the National Insulator Association. Throughout his life, he was an avid collector of insulators, barbed wire, Wyoming license plates and orange juice reamers. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 71 years; children, Rick (Susan) Carpenter of Wyoming, Larry (Deaun) Carpenter of Nebraska, and Charlie (Kathy) Carpenter of Alaska; six grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters. A graveside service with military honors will be celebrated at the Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne. A private service for family will be in June. Cremation has taken place and services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
