Lawrence Person

Mr. Lawrence C. Person, 75, of Burns, Wyoming, passed away Sunday morning, May 13, 2012, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Mr. Person was born March 9, 1937, in Kimball, Nebraska, a son of the late Carl and Helen (Curran) Person. Lawrence graduated from Albin High School and was an active member of the 4-H and the Future Farmers of America. While his passion was working on the family farm and ranch, he also had a professional career outside of agriculture. He worked for a number years as an assessor for the Weld County Assessor's Office and also for the National Agriculture Statistics Service. His many interests included attending horse shows and numerous fairs with his wife, Carolyn, and he also enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in their 4-H endeavors. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Lawrence is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Harke) Person of Burns; a daughter-in-law, Alison Person of Ft. Collins, CO; four step-children, Shawn Younglove and wife, Andi, of Alpine, WY, Georgia Younglove of Chadron, NE, Dawn Sanchez and husband, Eddie, of Evanston, WY, and Jessica James and husband, Tim, of Graham, TX; his brother, LeRoy Person of Albin, WY; two grandchildren, Megan and Sara Person; eight step-grandchildren, Brook Howard, Morgan Sanchez, Blair Sanchez, Cooper Sanchez, Brittany James, Kadin James, Paisley James and Kami James; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Rodney Person. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Albin Community Center. Following the reception, a private family interment will be held at the Albin Cemetery.
