Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 9 :00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Pine Bluffs with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend John H. Melms officiating. An interment service with military honors will immediately follow at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery. Mr. Lee L. Scheel, 71, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away Monday morning, May 3, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Lee was born August 21, 1938, in Golden Prairie, Laramie County, Wyoming, a son of Bernhardt and Emelia (Wiese) Scheel. Following the completion of his high school education, Lee enlisted in the United States Army and served honorably during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his honorable discharge, Lee returned home where he worked as a driver for Frenchman’s Valley Co-Op, and he also worked many years as a farmer. His many interests included serving as a member of the American Legion and as a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church. Lee is survived by his loving wife, Lucille (Holgerson) Scheel of Pine Bluffs; a daughter, Judy Lee Dupre and husband, Brian, of Phoenix, AZ; a son, Stephen Scheel of Kimball, NE; a sister, Elnora Beavers of Cheyenne; and three grandchildren, Ryan Standley, Conner Standley and Jailyn Scheel. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Scheel. Expressions of sympathy in Lee’s memory may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, The Lutheran Hour, or the Davis Hospice Center.
