Leigh E. Stinner passed away in his home in Cheyenne on December 31, 2019 from a long illness.
He was born June 6, 1943. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Cheyenne, went on to graduate from Howard University in Washington D.C., and was a long-time practicing attorney in Cheyenne. He enjoyed talking about first starting medical school and having the nick name of Doc, working for the Library of Congress, playing college football, and his days with medevac in the military.
He was well loved by his friends at his home-away-from-home, the Eagle’s Nest. He was a friendly likeable person, and he had represented several patrons as clients for very reasonable charges, including for free at times. Leigh had been described as mysterious, intriguing, private, and a colorful character.
Leigh is survived by his son, Ryan Brennan of Laramie, a sister-in-law Scarlett Wise of Oregon with a niece and nephew, Shaunan Jermaine Stinner and Shannel Cherizar Stinner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert K. Stinner and Iona N. Stinner; and a brother Robert Kelly Stinner.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer.
