Leonard Medina, Sr.

Leonard did not want anyone to cry for him. He wanted his life celebrated and would like you to come as you are. No need to dress up. The celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Jeffrey Center in Rawlins at 2:00pm. Anyone who would like to share memories will be welcome to do so. Dinner will be served concluding the family’s celebration. Mr. Leonard P. Medina, Sr., 45, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer. Leonard was born September 9, 1964, in Rawlins, Wyoming, a son of Adelmo and Maria (Martinez) Medina. Leonard was a very loving and caring person to everyone around him. He would do anything to make people laugh. He made his children and closest family an integral part of his daily life and his granddaughter was the center of his world. When Leonard was a young adult, he found solace in lifting weights with friends and competed in and won several weight lifting competitions. After his children were grown he really enjoyed riding his motorcycle around Rawlins and talking to friends. He spent most of his time away from home at Memory Lanes and Washington Park. Leonard is survived by three children, Christina Linn and husband, Billy, of Loveland, CO, Stephanie Medina of Glendale, CO, and Leonard P. Medina, Jr. and wife, Kennida, of Cheyenne; his mother, Maria (Lala) Medina of Cheyenne; a grandchild, Tomi Medina; two sisters, Debra Medina of Cheyenne, and Doreen Morgan of Cheyenne; and a grandmother, Susie Medina of Rawlins. He is preceded in death by his father, Adelmo Medina; two brothers, Brian and Christopher Medina; his maternal grandparents, Onesimo and Celina Martinez; and his paternal grandfather, Elias Medina.
