Lewis Johnson

Mr. Lewis Nathaniel Johnson, Jr., 59, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25, 2011, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Denver surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Johnson was born March 23, 1952, to Margaret (Falls) Johnson Matthews and Lewis Nathaniel Johnson, Sr. in Baltimore, Maryland. Lewis served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne. At the age of 20, he met the love of his life, Beverly DeSheuquette. They were married 1 ½ months later and had a long marriage of 38 years. Lewis was honorably discharged from the Air Force and he spent the rest of his life as a master cement mason. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends fishing, and he especially loved his poker games. Lewis lived life with a passion for everything he did. He will be missed terribly by his family and all who had the pleasure to know him. Lewis is survived by his forever loving wife, Beverly June Johnson; his son, Lewis N. Johnson, III and wife, Lisa; his daughter, Bernadette M. Johnson Sanchez and husband, Michael; seven grandchildren, Michael, Christiana, Larissa, Huston, Pryce, Brittany and Malyia; his children in Omaha, Nebraska: sons, Jerome Johnson, Jayme Johnson and Justin Johnson, and a daughter, Jay Taya Johnson; a sister, Margaret Wade; two brothers, Robert Johnson and David Johnson, Sr.; his grandmother, Cora Hargrove; and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. With his leaving, he took with him a piece of all of our hearts. He will be missed and remembered "forever". He is preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Erwin Johnson and Leslie Johnson. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 30th at 11:00 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel with Pastor Roy A. Mitchell officiating. An interment service with military honors will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
