Linda Dillon

May 16, 1947 — October 18, 2024

Cheyenne

Linda Anne Dillon, 77, of Cheyenne, Wyoming crossed that Rainbow Bridge to join all the wonderful dogs and cats she rescued and loved over the past 50 years. Linda passed on October 18, 2024, in the ICU at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, after a major stroke.

Linda was born on May 16, 1947, at Memorial Hospital in Cheyenne, the third child of Dorothy and Harold Dillon. She was a graduate of Cheyenne Central High, and had a distinguished career that included responsible positions with some local finance companies and services to the Wyoming Travel Commission, Cheyenne Frontier Days, where she was the first director of the CFD Old West Museum, and director of the highly successful CFD Governor's Invitational Art Show and Sale. She also worked at First National Bank, Wallick and Volk, Unicover Corporation, and Sierra Trading Post before retiring in 2017.

Linda's lifelong passion was rescuing dogs and cats in Cheyenne and wherever else they happened to be. Lucky was the stray animal who ended up in Linda's care. She and her big bundle of love, Gracie, were recently honored by the Cheyenne Animal Shelter as "cover girls" and a story and photos of some of her many "fur babies" in the Cheyenne Animals Shelter's 2024 Annual Report, "Pet Prints".

She was preceded in death by her parents. a sister, Mary Lou Davis, and longtime friends from high school including Sue (Pierce) Eklof, and Carol (Drake) Crump, as well as an undetermined number of pets.

Linda is survived by her Life Partner, Dave Spencer, her brother David Dillon and wife, Nichole, along with the current group of rescues: dogs "Katie" and "Waylon" and cats "Mama Cat", "Portia", and "Gemini".

Per her wishes, organ and tissue donations have been made, and there will be no services. Care and cremation will be provided by Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Friends who wish to honor her life and legacy may contribute in her memory to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter or any other animal welfare charity of choice.
