Lois Oberg

Lois Ann Oberg, 79, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Select Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Oberg was born June 30, 1932, to Harry and Mona Schwam in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Lois graduated from Central High School in Grand Forks and attended the University of North Dakota. She married Gordon Oberg on July 14, 1951. She and her husband relocated to Osakis, Minnesota in 1954, then moved to Cheyenne in 1956 where she worked at DePaul Hospital and in sales. Lois enjoyed worshiping at Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church and had a deep love and faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also enjoyed travel, particularly traveling abroad, long daily walks with her husband, sewing, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. Lois will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Lois is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Oberg of Cheyenne, with whom she recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary; two sons, Bradley Oberg and wife, Jean, of Cheyenne, and Brent Oberg and wife, Beth, of Centennial, CO; two daughters, Karen Curtis and husband, Bob, of Douglas, WY, and April Orndorff and husband, Tim, of Centennial, CO; grandchildren, Kimberly Hansen, Andy Curtis, Janelle Lynch, Afton Warrick, Levi and Ethan Oberg, Joshua, Alyssa, Seth and Trent Orndorff, and Quinn, Soren and Zoe Oberg; and great-grandchildren, Addison, Luke and Alexis Hansen, and Bryce Warrick. Lois was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Mona Schwam. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Dave Carlson officiating. Visitation and interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy in Lois' memory may be made to the Paul Smith Children's Village - Cheyenne Botanic Garden, 616 South Lions Park Drive, Cheyenne, WY 82001.
