Lois Bernice (Haraldson) Sims, 89, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at her residence on Friday, September 4, 2015. Mrs. Sims was born September 27, 1925, in Martin Township, Minnesota, a daughter of the late Lewis O. and Effie D. (Jenkins) Haraldson. Lois worked for the United States Government in communications until her retirement. She and her late husband, Ralph E. Sims, were avid amateur ham radio operators. She was a member of the American Radio Relay League, the Shy WY Radio Club, and the Young Ladies Radio League. She was also extremely patriotic and she flew the American flag religiously. Her other interests included playing the organ, quilting and caring for her home in North Cheyenne where she and her husband planted 10,000 trees. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Cheyenne Genealogical Society. Lois is survived by a niece, Sheila Haraldson; three nephews, Ron Haraldson, Dennis Haraldson and Paul Haraldson; a step-daughter, Betty Jo Perry; nine step-grandchildren, Daniel Spilde, Lori Spilde, Jodi Spilde, Kim Willuweit, Terrie McDaniel, Krista Boezinger, Andrew Perry, Misty Phelps and William Perry; and 15 step great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ralph E. Sims; five brothers, Berdell Haraldson, Harvey Haraldson, Vernon Haraldson, Mavis Johnson and Everett Haraldson; two sisters, Clarice Haraldson and Della Haraldson; and a step-daughter, Judith Spilde. A memorial service will be celebrated on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with The Reverend Kevin Frank officiating. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
