Lonnie Henry Taylor, fondly known as "Lon," was born on September 15, 1946, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and passed away peacefully on October 17, 2024, in Loveland, Colorado. Lon's life was a testament to dedication, warmth, and love, values that he embodied throughout his remarkable journey.

Lonnie had an illustrious career in the military, serving nearly 28 years in both the Air Force and the U.S. Army. His commitment to excellence was evident in every role he undertook, particularly as an outstanding squad leader during military training. He demonstrated a profound ability to inspire those around him and earned numerous certificates in recognition of his accomplishments, including training in Fire and Rescue from the Military. His experience as a mechanic in Germany solidified his expertise and mutual respect in the service.

Beyond his professional excellence, Lonnie was known for his genuinely kind-hearted and warm personality. He had an innate ability to brighten any room with his humor, effortlessly sharing jokes or lending a listening ear to anyone in need. Many who knew him will always remember the lessons he imparted, leaving a lasting impact on their lives.

Lonnie treasured moments spent with his family, instilling a deep love for travel and exploration, which he often shared with his loved ones. His proudest accomplishments in life were undoubtedly his two children, William Taylor and Lisa Simon, whom he cherished immensely. Lonnie’s love for family extended further, embracing his wife Amanda Taylor, and son-in-law Mark Simon, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, great nieces, and nephews, creating a legacy of love and connection.

In addition to his family life, Lonnie possessed a variety of hobbies and interests that filled his time with joy. He found pleasure in motorcycle riding, fishing, hunting, sword making, and light reading, allowing him to embrace life with a spirit of adventure and creativity.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Elise and John Henry Taylor, and his brother, Greg Taylor. The memories they shared will forever remain in the hearts of his surviving family members and friends.

Though he has left this earthly realm, Lonnie Henry Taylor’s spirit and the warmth he shared with others will be dearly remembered and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, strength, and laughter will continue to resonate through the lives he touched.
