Loretta Boucher

February 26, 1915 — December 27, 2017

Loretta (Border) Boucher, 102, passed away on December 27, 2017 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Loretta was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, February 26, 1915. Imagine the history she witnessed and the changes she experienced during her centurion lifetime. In 1933 she married John R. Boucher and other than a couple of years in Elko, Nevada, they made their permanent home in Cheyenne. At 102 years of age her mind and sense of humor were still sharp, she had a sweet and caring personality, and her unwritten store of memories was fantastic. In her younger years she was proud of her job tinting (colorizing) black and white photos for Epperson's Photography. She was an excellent cook and baker (her lemon pies were prize worthy), an amazing seamstress, was creative and enjoyed crafts and stitchery. She loved to fish, go to Black Hawk to play the slots and to play Bingo on Sundays, but her great love was her family and little cat. She was past Grand Matron in Mizpah Chapter of Eastern Star, helped start Bethel #33 of Job's Daughters and later served as Guardian, XJWC's, and was active in several other organizations over the years. Loretta was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Ann Luckie of Simi, CA and Marilyn Palmer of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Vicki (Kenneth) Wilkins of Cheyenne, Marlene Kayser of Kingman, AZ, David (Judy) Palmer of Delta, CO, LorielLuckie of Maui, Hawaii, Janet Luckie of Simi, CA, and Marla (David) Rosenbloom of Simi, CA; 26 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; husband, John; great grandson Cody Wilkins; granddaughter, Kim Luckie; sons-in-law, Everett Palmer and Bill Luckie. Our Mom loved animals and if you would like to honor her memory, please remember her by donating to the Black Dog Rescue, Cheyenne Animal Shelter or charity of your choice. A memorial and celebration for this special lady and her life will be announced at a later date. We know she has gone to a better place, is with God, our Father, and hopefully there is lots of chocolate in Heaven. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
