Loris McBrayer

August 7, 1926 — August 29, 2013

Loris Jean McBrayer, 87, passed away Aug. 29, 2013 at Pointe Frontier in Cheyenne. Jean was born on Aug. 7, 1926 in Killeen, TX to Lonnie and Elva McFarland. Jean was the second of four children; her siblings were Yvonne, John and Gail. On Nov. 26, 1947, Jean married W. R. "Mac" McBrayer and resided in Kansas and Denver before moving to Torrington, WY where they purchased the Whitfield Insurance Co. Eventually changing the name to McBrayer's Insurance and Real Estate. After residing in Torrington for over30 years, Jean and Mac moved to Dubois, WY and finally Cheyenne. Jean was loved by all who met her and will be sorely missed. She was preceded in death by her husband Mac, her parents, one brother and one sister. Jean is survived by her sister Yvonne and her husband Don Campbell of Columbus, OH, three children Sherri and her husband Tom Hunt of Cheyenne, Lynn and her husband Gordon Schukei of Torrington and Michael McBrayer and his wife Anna of Carlsbad, CA. Jean was known as "Gammer" to her nine grandchildren, Jon and Jason Murphy, Marissa Ward, Ashlyn Sartain, Angela, Lucas and Kailyn Schukei, Krystina and Jordan McBrayer. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren, Alexis, Isaiah and Isabella Ward, Brock, Austin, Logan and Cameron Murphy, Darby and Delaney Murphy and Kyra Bolden. Gammer was looking forward to the arrival of twin boys in December to Mark and Ashlyn Sartain as well as a new arrival due in January to Lucas and Sarah Schukei. Memorial services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Schrader Chapel. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Schrader Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
