Lorna Lee (Hellewell) Sanders, 78, died April 3, 2018. She was born September 16, 1939 in Ogden, Utah to Dr. J.S. and Frances D. Hellewell of Evanston, Wyoming. She graduated from Evanston High School in 1958 and then attended Colorado Women's College in Denver. She married Kenneth Sanders in 1962 and was later divorced. She resided in Lander and worked for the Fremont County Clerk. She later moving to Cheyenne in 1973. She worked for the Wyoming State Treasurer until early retirement and then moved to San Diego. Returning to Cheyenne in 1995, she went to work for Laramie County School District #1 until her second retirement in 2002. She was a member of State Employee Retirees Group, Cheyenne Astronomy Society and the Cheyenne Gem and Minerals Club. Her interests included family and gardening. She also was a pet lover, adopting several dogs over the years. She is survived by her son, Dallas Sanders and his wife, Sharon; daughter, Tracy Hall and her husband, Fred; grandson, Korey; twin sister, Linda Kranz of Midvale, Utah and sister Susan Parkins of Cheyenne;and nieces and nephews in Utah, Colorado, Alaska and Arizona. Contributions in Lorna's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later time. She will be laid to rest next to her father in Evanston.
