Lorna Mae (Pattison) Walkley, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 6, 2016, at Life Care Center of Cheyenne. Lorna was born August 5, 1932, in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of the late Dr. John McClure and Mae A. (Nichol) Pattison. Lorna married Robert G. Walkley on June 12, 1954, in Cheyenne. She was a skilled concert pianist, worked as a substitute music teacher in Laramie County School District #1, while also giving private piano lessons and serving as the youth choir director in both Cheyenne and Clifton, New Jersey, Presbyterian churches, where she taught children the value of music and worship. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Chapter S PEO, Friendship Mariners, Prairie Schooner Pioneers, Past President of the Presbyterian Women's Group and a church Elder in Clifton. Lorna's many interests included gardening, needlework, cooking and baking, especially shortbread and lemon meringue pie. She had a deep love of the Cheyenne community and the State of Wyoming, especially the many sports teams. Her numerous friends were very important to her, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Lorna is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Robert G. Walkley of Cheyenne; two children, The Reverend Kenneth J. Walkley and wife, Wendy, of South Hackensack, NJ, and Patricia Walkley-Kubitschek and husband, James, of Cheyenne; a sister-in-law, Ethel Lund Pattison of Manhattan Beach, CA; five grandchildren; and two great-grandsons. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dr. Sydney Pattison. A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
