A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church with The Reverend Elizabeth McVicker officiating. A luncheon will follow at Allison Hall. Louise Holmes Bartlett, 93, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Monday morning, April 5, 2010, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Louise was born April 30, 1916, in Cheyenne, a daughter of Floyd and Georgella Bevan Holmes, Sr. Louise married Bob Bartlett in June of 1951 and worked in her home raising her three daughters. She was actively involved in many local organizations, particularly those that supported Cheyenne Frontier Days. She enjoyed her membership in Wheels, the Cowgirls of the West, the Mabel Strickland Museum, the Order of Eastern Star, the Old West Museum, the Friendly Folks Extension Club, the Daughters of the Nile, the Cheyenne Frontier Days Past Queens Group, and the Pioneer Club. She was especially proud of being named Miss Frontier 1939, and she celebrated her 70th Anniversary as Miss Frontier with her special niece, Shirley (Holmes) Churchill, who celebrated her 30th Anniversary as Miss Frontier 1979. An active member of the First United Methodist Church, she was also involved as a member of the Methodist Church Retired Group. Louise is survived by her three daughters, Sherilyn Prosser and husband, Alden, of Wheatland, WY, Janet Harnish and husband, Kirk, of Cheyenne, and Cindy Gagnon of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren, Troy Prosser of Rock Springs, WY, Todd Prosser of Belt, MT, Lisa Tamlin of Wheatland, WY, and Justic Knafelc of Scottsdale, AZ; six great-grandchildren, Darci and Brock Tamlin of Wheatland, WY, Kailey and Lane Prosser of Belt, MT, Cami Anne Prosser of Belt, MT, and Austin Gibson of Belt, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Bob Bartlett; her first husband, Harold Kennedy; two brothers, Keith Holmes and Floyd Holmes, Jr., her sister, Kay Wellman; and one granddaughter, Joelie Pando.
