Lt. Col. Dyle Channell

Lt. Col. Dyle A. Channell, ret. USAF, 89, of Cheyenne died December 12, 2013 at the Veteran's Administration Hospital. He was born July 22, 1924 in Buffalo, NY to N. Dow and Irene Channell. He married Dolores Markee Hamel on May 25, 1964 in Cheyenne. He was a pilot in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col. He also taught school and served as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff. He was a member of the Air Force Retired Officer Association and the Ft. Warren Daedalian Flight 54. He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Dee" Channell of Cheyenne; children, David Channell of Rock; Springs, WY, Duane Channell of Monroe, LA, and Diana Chenevert of Corpus Christi, TX; stepson, Kirby Hamel of Cheyenne; sister, Dolores Neumann of Cincinnati, OH; two grandchildren; and a daughter in law, Cindy Hamel of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his parents, N. Dow and Irene Channell, and a stepson, Gregory Hamel, Sr. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the High Plains Chapel at F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Those who wish to attend the service need to call Schrader Funeral Home at 634-1568 with your name, date of birth and driver's license number. Please plan on meeting at the funeral home's parking lot at 1:30 p.m. to be escorted onto the base. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
