Lucille Chavez

Lucille "Lucy" Chavez, 82, of Cheyenne died December 25, 2012 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born November 6, 1930 to Paul and Mary Martinez in Ledoux, NM. She married Mike Chavez in Erie, CO on March of 1948. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary #4343, American Legion Post #6 Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her husband, Mike Chavez of Cheyenne; children Diane (Paul) Fitts of Cheyenne, Larry Chavez of Cheyenne and Steve Chavez of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Damian Cordova, Jeff Wordeman, Zacharia Chavez, Brian Fitts, Gidieon Chavez; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Wordeman, Zane Chavez, Cullen Fitts, Mattie Wordeman, Sivana Fitts, Michael Cordova and Rhiananon Chavez. She was preceded in death by her parents and a siblings, Pauline Ojeda, Celia Lovato, Lino Martinez, Gilbert Martinez and Lloyd Martinez. A Vigil for the Deceased will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Fr. Carl Gallinger officiating. Interment will follow in Olivet Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Services are under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
