Lynton "Lynn" A. Williams, 78, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, was called to heaven on January 17, 2016, after a lengthy illness. He was born January 27, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Kenneth E. and Winifred H. Williams. Lynn joined the armed forces as a Marine on October 15, 1953, and as a Private spent three courageous years fighting for his county in the Korean War. On December 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to Arvada M. Bowers in Hollywood, California. Lynn and Arvada attended the Church of Christ in Cheyenne, Wyoming, where they renewed their faith through baptism and met many wonderful friends. Lynn spent many years employed as an over-the-road truck driver and eventually moved to Cheyenne where he was employed and retired from Texaco Transportation. He enjoyed playing video games with his family, bowling, golfing, playing horseshoes, and using his ornery sense of humor and quick wit to crack jokes just to make family and friends laugh. Lynn wholeheartedly loved his children and grandchildren and spent as much time with them as possible. Survivors include four children, Angela (Buck) Miller of Lander, Kenneth (Cheree) Williams of Gillette, Brandee (David) Ritter of Cheyenne, and Lynton "Lynnie" Williams II of Cheyenne; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Gail Chapple of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Roden. A memory service will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home with Jerry Smith officiating. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, and Davis Hospice Center of Cheyenne.
