Mrs. Mabel Ruth (Donze) Petsch, 92, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, formerly of Albin, Wyoming, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center. Mrs. Petsch was born on March 6, 1917, in Dundy County, Nebraska, the only daughter of Emil Donze and Phoebe (Gauger) Donze, where she grew up with her six brothers on the family farm near Wauneta, Nebraska. Mabel graduated from the 8th grade after attending Fairview, a country school amount a half mile from her home. She married Joseph August Petsch on August 5, 1938, and during their married life they first lived at Enders, Nebraska, before moving to Wyoming where they lived in Meriden and later moved to Riverton and Shoshoni, Wyoming. In 1950, they moved to Albin, and except for several years during which she was the ranch cook at the Y-6 Ranch, Albin remained her home until this past year when she and her son moved to Cheyenne for medical reasons. Together they cared for each other until their deaths. For the past seven years, Mabel has had five living generations in her family. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Cole and husband, Bill; her grandchildren, Lori Peterson, Cory Cole and Dawn Bolander; her great-grandchildren, Richard Peterson and fiancee, Kate Hartman, Kara Peterson, Dillon Cole and Jessica Cole; and her great-great grandson, Blake Peterson. She is also survived by her brother, Dean Donze and wife, Karlene, of Placentia, CA, and her nephews and nieces, Jerry Donze and wife, Sandy, Gloria Bracelin and husband, Kenny, Loren Donze and wife, Sue, and Billy Donze and wife, Kathy, and their families. Mabel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Petsch; her son, Virgil Petsch; and five brothers, John, Robert, Donald, Delbert and Ralph Donze.
