Cremation will take place at Schrader’s Sunset Park Crematory. Her family will have a memorial service on Saturday, August 7, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at the Miracle Valley Assembly of God Church with Pastor Ed Fugate officiating. Mrs. Margaret (Groff) Thomsen, 93, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 27, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Margaret was born April 28, 1917, in Sargent, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Franklin D. and Margaret A. (Edmunds) Groff. Early in her married life, she and her late husband, Roy, worked and lived on a farm in Huntley, Wyoming, where they raised their young family of four children. In 1951, she and her family moved to Cheyenne and later moved to Rawlins where she worked at Gambles for a number of years as a sales clerk and also at J.C. Penny. In 1970, she returned to Cheyenne with her husband and was active as a sales person for Mary Kay for 25 years. At the tender age of 71, she completed her high school equivalency course and received her high school diploma. She was an avid walker and enjoyed numerous hobbies including crocheting, making crafts, sewing, shopping with her sisters and bowling until the age of 90. She will be remembered as a wonderful cook and a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Margaret is survived by four children, Allen Thomsen and wife, Wanda, of Federal Heights, CO, Carole Tabor and husband, Wes, of Rawlins, WY, Bette Boucher and husband, Don, of Myrtle Creek, OR, and Terry Thomsen and wife, Dianne, of Cheyenne; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 35 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Thomsen; two brothers; and four sisters.
