Marian Campbell

Marian Campbell started her journey with the Lord on December 30, 2013. She was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on the family farm off Torrington Highway on June 22, 1927. In 1947, she moved to the big city life of Cheyenne where she worked at American National Bank. She then moved to California where she met and married Danny Campbell. They had two children and she worked in the accounting field. Marian returned to Cheyenne in 1991 where she finished out her life as it had started. She was loved and praised by relatives and friends alike and was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend anyone could ever have. Marian lived on her own terms and was an avid golfer and bridge player, even a broken hip nor a bout with cancer could slow her down. That old rancher spirit in her would never fail to modern society, as growing up on "the ranch" was truly a special setting and it really was five miles to school uphill, each way. We were blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from Marian during her 86 years, among us. Her Spirit is carried on by her children, Kevin Campbell (Debra Schaller) of California, and Kathy Mawford (Bill Semler) of Cheyenne; three grandchildren, Shannon Wren (Austin) of Virginia Beach, Jason Kilmer (Elizabeth) of Cheyenne and Adam Campbell (Orly) of California; and three great grand-children, Ashlyn, Jenna and Joshua which were her true treasures in life. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Matilda Johnson; and her husband, Danny Campbell. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with an interment service to follow at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Mary's Cathedral.
