Martha Aileen Hudman Higgins, 87, went to her Heavenly Father on February 16, 2015. She was a long time resident of Cheyenne and spent many years with her husband providing compassionate service in the community. Martha was born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, November 30, 1927 to Ellis and Jennie Vera Thomas Hudman. She grew up in Rock Springs and spent many hours with her father, the city engineer there. She attended Utah State University in Logan, Utah, graduating with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. She worked in Preston, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Cheyenne in 1949. Here she met her eternal companion Aloysius (Al) Higgins. They were married on January 13, 1952 in Rock Springs. They were later sealed in the St. George, Utah temple. Al was in the Air Force and they lived and enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world. Martha was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many responsible callings. Martha and Al served seven years as Denver, Colorado temple ordinance workers. Survivors include: nieces Suzanne Duke (Rodney) of Lewiston, Idaho, Linda Rasmussen (Philip) of Hyde Park, Utah and Callie Conkey of Denver, Colorado; nephew Michael Flowers of Tustin, California; niece in-law Gerri Flowers of Vancouver, Washington; 15 grand nieces and nephews; and 34 great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by beloved husband Al, her parents, brothers Keith and Kenneth, sister Helen Schamber and nephew Patrick Flowers. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 12:00 noon at the LDS Stake Center, 309 Western Hills Boulevard, followed with interment in Lakeview Cemetery. Viewing at the Stake Center prior to the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Schrader Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
