Martha A. Nelson Obituary

Martha Ann Nelson of Cheyenne passed away on March 19, 2023 at Alta Vita Memory Care in Longmont, Colorado.  

Martha Ann was born in Pampa, Texas Daughter of the late William and Velma (Ehlers) Ernst  on June 17, 1937.

Martha married Billy Nelson on October 7,1976 in Cheyenne, Wyo. 

Surviving are former spouse Larry Williams, Also surviving are sons Martin Williams and wife Debra of Frederick, CO; James Williams of Ft. Collins, CO; and four grandchildren  Adam Williams and wife Hannah of Longmont, CO; Brandon Williams of Frederick, CO; Ben Williams and wife Jillian of Kirkland, WA; Sam Williams of Salem, OR. She is also survived by brother Harley Ernst of Flagler, CO; sister Georgia Mason and Husband Merrill of Cope, CO.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Martha was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Cheyenne.  She retired from the Wyoming Game and fish commission after nearly 30 years in state government.  She enjoyed camping and traveling.  Her hobbies included  crosstitching, knitting as well as baking pies for the state fair.

A funeral service will be held on Monday March 27, 2023 at St Paul's Lutheran church, The Pastor Michael TeKrony officiating. Internment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Cheyenne.
