Martin Gutierrez

Mr. Martin Gutierrez, 45, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at his home on Monday, December 5, 2011. Martin was born January 21, 1966, in Cheyenne, a son of Francisco A. and Mary (Hernandez) Gutierrez. Because of a disability, Martin never worked, but it did not preclude him from helping his family and friends. He cared for his father prior to his father's death, and he was always willing to help his mother and family whenever the need arose. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching sports, particularly the Colorado Rockies and the Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball teams. However, his most enjoyable hobby was riding his bicycle. He will be remembered as a loving son, brother and uncle who gave unconditionally to this family members and friends. Martin is survived by his mother, Mary Gutierrez, of Cheyenne; his brother, Vincent Gutierrez of Cheyenne; three sisters, Esther Hernandez of Salt Lake City, UT, Frances Gutierrez of Cheyenne, and Delores Andazola of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, cousins and an aunt. He is preceded in death by his father, Francisco A. Gutierrez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home with a Vigil for the Deceased to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader Chapel. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 12th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Rob Spaulding as celebrant. An interment service will follow at Olivet Cemetery.
