Mary Brown

January 6, 1938 — May 17, 2019

Mary Ann Brown, 81, passed away in the comfort of her home on Friday, May 17, 2019, from complications of advanced dementia and previous injuries. Mary was a lifetime resident of Wyoming, born outside Hannah, Wyoming to her parents, Marion and Effie Stillwell on January 6, 1938. She grew up with her siblings, Joyce, Loretta, Marion, Oren, Oreen and Danny. She moved to Cheyenne as a child and attended Corlett Elementary, McCormick Junior High, and graduated from the original Cheyenne High School. Mary married Don Brown and together they built a home, a family and a rich life. Fortunate to enjoy a long retirement, they were able to pursue their hobbies and travel throughout the country. Many will remember her volunteer efforts at the county library, youth groups, the First Church of the Nazarene, and many religious organizations. She loved puzzles, gardening, needlepoint, crochet, crafts, traveling, games of chance, and was passionate about researching her family history. Mary is survived by her children, Marsha and Les; her daughter-in-law, Kathleen; sister, Oreen; grandchildren, Jennifer, Brian, and Connor; and her great-grandchildren, Kenadie, Kaylynn, Makinley, and Madilynn. A memory service will be celebrated on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. An interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Schrader Reception Center.
