Mary Herman

Mrs. Mary A. (Barnes) Herman, 74, of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Herman was born August 26, 1937, in Cheyenne, a daughter of the late Walter and Juanita (Scofield) Barnes. Mary attended Cheyenne High School and later worked for Stock Growers Bank in Cheyenne. She married Emil Herman on November 14, 1965, at the First Congregational Church in Cheyenne. They moved Pine Bluffs to live and work on the family farm. As her family grew, she began working at High West Energy until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting, serving as an active member of Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church, the Pastime Club, and more recently as a foster grandparent at the Albin Elementary School. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Emil Herman of Pine Bluffs; three sons, Donald Herman of Pine Bluffs, David Herman and wife, Teresa, of Pine Bluffs, and Dennis Herman and wife, Trudy, of Holyoke, CO; five grandchildren, Austin Herman, Josephine Herman, Lauren Herman, Courtney Herman and Joshua Herman; her brother, Jim of Aberdeen, WA; three sisters, Barbara of Denver, CO, and Susan and Sharon, both of Montana; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Julia Hogan. A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Bluffs United Methodist Church with Pastor Dale Lovett officiating. An interment service will follow at the Pine Bluffs Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Schrader Funeral Home.
