Mary Hicks

Mary J. Hicks, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016, at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born July 27, 1931, in Cheyenne, a daughter of the late Antonio and Mary C. (Bertapelle) Dallacosta. Mary was a strong-willed individual who enjoyed hard work, particularly when it came to caring for her home and her family. She loved to cook, bake, color, crochet and needle point. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Mary is survived by her children, Shara Lynn Missel and husband, Paul, of Bismarck, ND, Linda Teasley and husband, Chuck, of Cheyenne, Jim Hicks and wife, Kathy, of Newport, OR, Terri Smith and husband, Ken, of Cheyenne, Elizabeth Jones and friend, Mike Bennett, of Prescott, AZ, and Jerry Hicks of Cheyenne; a sister, Judy Phelan of Paradise, CA; 11 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Truman R. Hicks; and three sisters. A memory service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy in Mary's memory may be made to the Cheyenne Animal Shelter or Black Dog Animal Rescue.
