Mary Edith Higdem, of Cheyenne, went home to Jesus on November 11, 2014, on her 92nd birthday. Mary was born on November 11, 1922, and grew up in Lafayette, Colorado, with mother, Jessie Whitmore, father, John Molletti, three sisters and one brother. Mary enjoyed life for many years in Wheatland with husband, Walter Lockman. They raised Mary's daughter, Selma, and Walt's sons, Dick and John. Walter passed away in 1972. Mary married Joseph Higdem in Wheatland. Mary and Joe moved to Cheyenne to be near family, especially beloved sister, Ilene, and husband, Keith. Mary was known as Nanny to most of her family. Mary had a special relationship to her great-grandchildren, Jackie, Michael, and Amanda; and Jackie's and Amanda's children, Elijah, Elia, Blaze and Dashell. In her final years, Nanny moved to Windsor, Colorado, where she lived with her great-granddaughter, Jackie Cisco, her husband Scott and their children. Mary's niece, Barbara Hayes, and husband, Richard, of Longmont were frequent visitors and held a special place in her heart and she in theirs. Mary served as a model for her strength as a cancer survivor, a risk taker showing it is OK to change the color of your hair often, and a lover of life-telling stories of dancing, playing cards with friends and trusting God and enjoying family until she returned home. Mary is survived by sister, Ilene Horton (Keith); daughter, Selma Bohl (George); grandchildren, Dawn Bristow (Bruce), Donnette Kahle (Kris), Deirdre Pilch (Jeff)'; Walt's sons; John and Richard Lockman; and several great and great-great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Blanche Ehlert and Pauline Van Dyke; and brother, Bill Molletti. A memory service will be held at Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Avenue, on Saturday, November 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.
