Mary Hoeppner

August 31, 1961 — March 18, 2019

Mary Eleanor (Samet) Hoeppner, 57, of Granite Canon, Wyoming, passed away on March 18, 2019 peacefully in her mountain home in the arms of her loving husband, Bob. After she received poor medical treatment in her 20s for cervical cancer, she fought a 30 plus year battle of deteriorating health and obstacles. Upon the request of Mary, no funeral or memorial services will be held. Mary was born in Lusk, Wyoming to Betty Ruth (Miller) and James Harrington on August 31, 1961. She grew up and attended school in Casper, Wyoming. She married her best friend, Robert Jean Hoeppner, on May 15, 1993. She was an amazing wife, mother, horse enthusiast, and friend. She enjoyed sitting on the deck with Bob, enjoying their amazing mountain views and wildlife, playing with grandchildren, reading, crafting, and gardening. She was the fur mother to countless dogs and cats over the years, and loved them as a part of the family. She was a self-proclaimed "tough cookie" who took no grief, but her friends and family can tell you, she was the kindest, most loving soul you would ever meet, with a heart as big as the mountain she lived on. Mary is preceded in death by her mother, Betty Harrington. Mary is survived by her husband, Bob Hoeppner; her son, Christopher (Erin) Ciocarlan of Rapid City, SD; her daughter, Stephanie (Kurt) Garman, of Cheyenne; her four grandchildren, Icela and Brody Ciocarlan, and Kevin and Stella Garman; and her father, James Harrington. The family of Mary wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the doctors and nurses who have cared for her throughout the years, too numerous to list. Thanks to all her friends and family who participated in her tough journey, and making life that much more enjoyable for her. She will be up in Heaven, snuggling her grandbaby and riding Ace, waiting until we all meet again.
