Maxine McGonigle-Cooper

Maxine McGonigle-Cooper, 90, of Cheyenne passed away September 23, 2017 at Davis Hospice Center. She was born June 8, 1927 in Lander, WY to William and Minnie Marion. She married Dr. Lester McGonigle who passed away in 1988. She later married General Roy "Bud" Cooper in 1992. She was a registered nurse and also was a supervisor for the Wyoming State Senate for 17 years. Maxine enjoyed golfing with Ladies Association at the Cheyenne Country Club, delivered Meals on Wheels for many years, was a member of Chapter AD, PEO, supported many avenues of Wyoming History, was an avid gardener, and still enjoyed weekly bridge games with her friends. She is survived by her children, Ann (Tom) Zumo of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Christopher Zumo, Jacob Zumo, Ryan McGonigle and Sarah Prescott; great-grandchildren, Meredith McGonigle, Annelise Prescott, Alex Prescott and Will Prescott. She was preceded in death by her husbands, parents and sons, Steven McGonigle, Greg McGonigle, Kent McGonigle and Gary McGonigle; siblings, Pete Marion, Ray Marion, Everett Marion and Ione Carroll. Those who wish may contribute to the Botanic Gardens or Meals on Wheels. Cremation is under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and a private interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
