Melvia Jean Hill

Mrs. Melvia Jean (Rallens) Hill, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Saturday evening, February 8, 2014, at the Davis Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born January 2, 1927, in Marquette, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Francis and Ethel May (Russell) Rallens. Jean was a homemaker and enjoyed caring for her home and raising her five children. She enjoyed camping with her husband, Jim, and they were members of the Good Sam Club. Her other interests included reading and raising African violets. She was also an excellent cook and her family loved to gather at her home for dinner. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. Jean is survived by her five children, Timothy Hill and wife, Patricia, of Cheyenne, Rick Hill and wife, Dawn, of Cheyenne; Dulane Hill and wife, Eileen, of Cheyenne, Kelly Hill and wife, Lori, of Cheyenne; and Janice Fyffe and her partner, David, of Ft. Lupton, CO; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James V. Hill; two brothers; and three sisters. Visitation will be private. A Memory Service will be celebrated on Friday, February 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Schrader Chapel. An interment service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Jean's memory may be made to the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009.
