Michael Green

Mr. Michael G. Green, 61, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away Friday, January 10, 2014, at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Green was born December 13, 1952, in Honolulu, Hawaii, a son of Thomas Green and Rita (Marcella) Green. Michael worked in the oil fields for the majority of his career and most recently drove for Highland Express. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hiking and camping. His other interests included collecting antiques, reading and music. His greatest love was for the Lord and for his family and many friends. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Green; three daughters, Shaelene Green, Heather Green, and Kayla Green; five step-children, Mary Marsh, Katimay Carlson, Jessica Palmer, Kelly Birgenheier, Brandon Birgenheier and Michael Birgenheier; his mother, Rita Kilgallen; and his sister, Rita Coca. He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Green. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Father Tim Martinson as celebrant. Cremation will follow under the care of Schrader Funeral Home.
