Mickie Dian Meares, lovingly known as Mickie Dee, passed away on April 5, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. Born on July 1, 1957, in Fort Collins, Colorado, she brought warmth, kindness, and love into the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mickie's lifelong passion was being a devoted mother, a role she embraced with fervor. For 40 years, she excelled as the Office Manager at Meares Construction, a position that allowed her to nurture her career while also caring for her beloved children, Cody and Apryl. Her husband, Tom, was a steadfast support throughout her journey, encouraging her aspirations and helping to fulfill her greatest desire—to be the best mother she could be.
Throughout her life, Mickie cherished spending time with family and friends. She looked forward to the joys of the holiday season, where the bonds of family were tightly woven. Her love for the great outdoors was equally strong; she found joy in camping, hunting, and fishing, activities that brought her closer to nature and created lasting memories with her family. Coffee was her drink of choice, a ritual she enjoyed as she engaged in heartfelt conversations with those she held dear.
Her education and early career as a cosmetologist not only reflected her creativity but also led her to meet her lifelong best friend, Toni. The two shared countless adventures together, providing mutual support through life’s ups and downs. Mickie's vibrant spirit truly blossomed after she met Tom, who helped her emerge from her shell, transforming her into the warm and loving person that touched so many lives around her.
Mickie's proudest accomplishments were her children, Cody and Apryl, whom she took immense pride in raising. As their mother, she instilled in them the same values of love and connection that guided her own life.
Mickie is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Tom; her cherished children, Cody (Jayme) and Apryl; and her eight tiny grand babies, Chance, Serenity, Allie, Jenna, Hunter, Colt, Wyatt, and Mickie. She leaves behind her loving brothers and sisters, Beck (Rose), Beckie (Jim), Hollie (Rod), George (Melissa), Nicole (Ryley), and Teresa (Colin), along with many adored nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mickie was preceded in death by her amazing parents, Alberta and Robert, her beloved in-laws, George and Delores, and her Great Nephew Nick. As we remember Mickie Dee, we honor a beautiful soul who embodied warmth and love. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all those she touched.
There will be a Celebration of Life on the 27th of April at 130 p.m. at the Meares Residence.
