Mike Chacon, a devoted father and a man of many passions, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, surrounded by his loving children. He was born on May 5, 1934, in Youngsville, New Mexico, and lived a life filled with rich experiences and joyful memories that touched the hearts of all who knew him.

Throughout his life, Mike wore many hats, starting his career as a horseman, rancher, and sheep herder, fence building in his younger years. As he grew older, he transitioned into landscaping, a profession he enjoyed until he finally retired. His self-taught approach to life exemplified his determination and adaptability.

Mike was not only a hard worker but also a man who cherished relationships and community. He had a happy personality and loved engaging in conversations with people. His warmth and friendliness left a lasting impression on family and friends alike.

Mike's zest for life was evident in his love for road trips, which often became memorable family adventures. He shared unforgettable moments during a road trip to Wenatchee, Washington, with Daughters Priscilla, Rose, son, Michael, where they visited his son Tony and daughter-in-law Mary, where they explored the beautiful coast and celebrated a birthday that brought joy to both father and son and all who attended. His daughters, Priscilla and Rose, took him on an adventurous journey to Mt. Rushmore and the Devils Tower, where they braved a tornado warning in Spearfish and had the best lunch in Sturgis. . A particularly cherished memory for Mike was a road trip to Alaska with his sister Mercedes and brother-in-law Bill, which took several days traveling through Canada, he described as one of his favorite experiences. 

Outside of family trips, Mike had a keen interest in wrestling, fondly keeping up with WWE and NXT. He also enjoyed the thrill of gambling and had a particular fondness for poker, activities that brought him great joy and camaraderie with his friends and loved ones.

Mike's proudest accomplishment was his family, particularly all of his children: Tony Chacon and his wife Mary, Richard Chacon, Susan Chacon, Priscilla Wilcox, Rose Snyder, Bertha Chacon, Michael Chacon, Mathew Chacon, and Jessica Sergo. He also is survived by his loving sister, Mercedes Kennedy, and brother-in-law Bill. and his many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, 

He is remembered with love by his family and friends, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories they share. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Chacon and Roseanne Moya; his son Raymond Chacon; and his siblings, sisters Julia and Mary, and brothers Joe and Gilbert.

Mike Chacon's journey through life was marked by hard work, adventure, and love. His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
