Mike Chavez

Mike Chavez, 91, of Cheyenne Passed away on January 9, 2017 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. He was born September 26, 1925 in Cuervo, NM to Gabe and Emma Chavez. He married Lucille Martinez in 1948 in Erie Colorado. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII, and was a truck driver. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars (Past All-State Commander of VFW#4343), American Legion, Moose Lodge, Seniors Bowling League and the Airport Golf Club. He is survived by his children, Diane (Paul) Fitts of Cheyenne, Larry Chavez of Cheyenne, Steve Chavez of Cheyenne; grandchildren, Damian (Kristen) Cordova, Jeff (Lisa) Wordeman, Zac (Ashlee) Chavez, Brian Fitts and Gidieon Chavez; great-grandchildren, Rhiannon Chavez,Zane Chavez, Michael Cordova, Ellyona Chavez, Aowyn Chavez, Jeremiah Wordeman, Mattie Wordeman, Cullen Fitts and Sivana Fitts; brother Ruben Chavez of Cheyenne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Chavez; parents, Gabe and Emma Chavez; siblings, Joe Chavez, Fred Chavez, Mary Nolan and Annie Trujillo. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday in the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home, with reception to follow in the Schrader Reception Center.
