Mildred Marquart

April 17, 1923 — June 16, 2012

Mildred Marquart left this world to be with her Lord on June 16, 2012. She was surrounded by her family while she fought a courageous battle with cancer at Aspen Wind Assisted Living Community where she had lived for several years. Mildred was born to Bemlie and Inez Carnes on April 17, 1923 in Pawnee, Texas. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Cheyenne where she has resided ever since. Mildred married Joseph R. Marquart Jr and to that union was born two children, Terry Marquart and Bonnee Bristow. Mildred was a homemaker who worked very hard for her family. She was very concerned about the welfare, education and spiritual upbringing of her children. Mildred gave of her time to the Cub Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts and supported the musical education of her children. Mildred enjoyed caring for her rose garden and spending time with her family. As time went on Mildred cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were a special part of her life. Mildred was a member of the Cheyenne Church of Christ where she attended worship services for over 70 years until her illness prevented her from attending church on a regular basis. Mildred is survived by her son Terry (Beverly) Marquart of Anchorage, Alaska, daughter Bonnee (Dennis) Bristow of Cheyenne, grandchildren Andrea Stokes, Matthew McCallum and Nicholle Watkins all of Cheyenne. Additionally, she is survived by great grandchildren Katelynn and Laci Stokes of Cheyenne. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents Bemlie and Inez Carnes, husband Joseph R. Marquart Jr and granddaughter, Autumn Lynn Pukash. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family receiving visitors from 4 pm to 7 pm at Schrader Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cheyenne Church of Christ, 4707 Allan Road, Cheyenne, Wyoming. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Donations can be made to Davis Hospice Center or Cheyenne Animal Shelter.
