NAOMI "JEAN" ROUNDS, 84, of Cheyenne died peacefully at home with family by her side Saturday, July 2. Jean was born May 9, 1927 at Alva, Wyoming to Victor and Dehlia French. She lived with her husband Edwin G. "Ted" Rounds and their four children in Sundance prior to their move to Cheyenne in 1969. As a young woman, her jobs included ranching with her father, managing a café, teaching at a country school, and teller at Sundance State Bank. She volunteered service with the Red Cross Grey Ladies, Elections, and DePaul Hospital. Jean loved working at the Legislature for 20 years. She was a 60-year member of Beta Sigma Phi, an active member at Church of the Good Shepherd in Sundance, Saint Christopher's, and later All Saints Church, which her son helped build in Cheyenne, Airport Golf Club and Republican Party. She was an avid sports fan, a great friend with a busy social life, and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed having a great many dear friends along with family. Jean is preceded in death by her husband in 1985. She is survived by: her sister Eleanor Egan of Issaquah, Washington; four children, Grace Semple & husband Ed of Tampa, Teddie Jeffery & husband Les of Sturgis, Kelly Rounds and wife Jodi of Cheyenne, Todd Rounds and wife Yvonne of Phoenix; five grandchildren, Lori Kirk, Eric Semple, Kayla, Aubrey and Brennan Rounds; two great-grandchildren, Moses Semple and Breklyn Jones. Memorial service will be held Saturday July 16 at 11:00 A.M., All Saints Anglican Church, 1311 Ashford Drive, Cheyenne, Wyoming, with interment Monday July 18, South Dakota National Cemetery next to her husband, formerly a Captain in USMC.
