Noreen Humphrey

July 28, 1946 — March 27, 2017

Noreen Humphrey, 70, passed away on March 27, 2017 at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, WY after a long and difficult battle with cancer. She was born on July 28, 1946 in Kittanning, PA to Clarence Enterline and Josephine Ippalito Enterline. Noreen grew up in Kittanning, PA and graduated from Kittanning Senior High School in 1964. After graduating from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburg, PA,she entered the Army Nurse Corps, where she was stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in Denver, CO as a nurse with the rank of lieutenant She married Gene Humphrey of Burns, WY in 1968 and they were married for 23 years. Noreen was a long-time resident of Wyoming after she and Gene moved to Laramie in 1975. As a practicing nurse for more than 40 years, she worked for the Vivion and Jackson practices at the Medical Arts Center in Laramie, WY and the Haller Clinic in Cheyenne for 18 years, retiring in 2008. Noreen was a member of Saint Mary's Cathedral. She contributed to the hockey programs in Laramie and Cheyenne and was a hockey mom through and through, supporting two sons through four decades of hockey. She was dedicated to her children, grandchildren and her friends. Noreen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Josephine and her sister Doris Lamison. Noreen is survived by her son Bret Humphrey (Tina Romero) of Reno, NV, her daughter Nicole Smith of Denver, CO, her son Matthew Humphrey of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Ian and Riley Smith; her brother Fred Enterline of Pittsburg, PA and her brother Jack Enterline of Ft. Pierce, FL. The family would like to thank her countless friends that selflessly gave their support to Noreen in her final days, especially Lisa Taylor and The Eklund Family; and the nurses that cared for her at the Davis Hospice Center. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cathedral with interment to follow in Olivet Cemetery. The family will be greeting friends and relatives at a reception following the burial at Little America, 2800 W Lincolnway, Cheyenne, WY 82001. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Cheyenne's Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore Road, Cheyenne, WY 82009. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
