Onesimo Vincente Martinez

Onesimo Vincente Martinez, affectionately known as Vin, was born in Rawlins, Wy on November 20th 1952. He passed away on February 23rd 2024 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Vin's life was marked by a deep love for music and an unwavering spirit of determination. He taught himself how to play the guitar and found solace in the melodies that he created. Among his many musical influences, Johnny Rivers held a special place in Vin's heart. The day he met Johnny Rivers in person and shook his hand was a moment of pure joy and fulfillment for Vin.

Despite facing a prolonged battle with Parkinson's disease, Vin never wavered in his faith or his courage. His family stood witness to his unwavering belief in the Lord, even in the midst of his struggles. Vin's resilience and strength were truly exceptional, serving as an inspiration to all who knew him.

Vin is now reunited with his late father Onesimo, mother Celina, brothers Johnny, Joe, Delmar, Oats, and sisters Mary and Louisa. He will be dearly missed by his surviving family members including his daughters Kara Martinez and Chandra deBlasio, his grandchildren Alexis and Evan, his ex-wife Mary Dexter, sisters Lala, Ida, Jane, brothers Steve, Clyde, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.

In every chord strummed on his guitar and every note sung along to Johnny Rivers' melodies, Vin's spirit lives on. His memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were privileged to have known him. May he rest in peace knowing that he touched many lives with his music and unwavering faith.
