Patricia M Martinez, affectionately known as Pat, passed away on December 6, 2023, at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Born on January 17, 1951, in Cheyenne, Patricia was the daughter of Enrique and Annie Rivera.
Patricia had a fulfilling career and dedicated many years to working in internal medicine. Later on, she retired as an auditor from the State of Wyoming Workers Comp. Her commitment and hard work made a lasting impact on those she worked with.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Patricia cherished her time spent with her family. Some of her most cherished memories were the moments she shared with her loving husband Jesse, their two sons and their significant others, dogs Pollyanna and Tete, and grandchildren. She found great joy in watching her great nieces and nephews during their various activities.
Patricia possessed an exceptional personality that left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. Known for her straightforward demeanor, she didn't tolerate nonsense from anyone. She was thoughtful, outgoing, and incredibly strong-willed. Her husband Jesse always admired her unwavering support, loyalty, amazing hugs, and tender kisses.
Education held a special place in Patricia's heart as well. She was a proud graduate of Central High School Class of 1969.
Apart from work and family life, Patricia had a range of hobbies and interests that brought her immense happiness. Spending time outdoors with her husband, sons, dogs Pollyanna and Tete, and grandchildren was one of her favorite pastimes. Whether it was venturing into the mountains or enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, or camping together, Patricia valued these precious moments spent in nature. She particularly treasured gathering around the campfire to share stories and create lasting memories.
Patricia's involvement didn't stop at the boundaries of her own life; she was a dedicated member of the community and consistently gave back. She dedicated her time to the Davis Hospice Center, seeking to provide comfort and support during challenging times. Patricia felt a deep connection to Saint Joseph's Catholic Church and had a proud involvement with the Council of Catholic Women.
Patricia's impact on the lives she touched will be forever cherished. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering determination. While she may no longer be physically present, her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband Jesse H Martinez and their sons Jesse E (Gene) Martinez and Dorene Martinez, as well as Eric J Martinez and Crystie Sanderson. Her grandchildren, Jesse Ray Martinez-Stickler and Steven Martinez-Stickler, Alex Romero, Deseray Martinez and Tra' Darius Tuggle, Aiden Martinez and Saraya Howard, alongside great-granddaughters Lilliana Melandrez-Romero and Haven Mae Tuggle, were a constant source of joy in Patricia's life.
She is also survived by her sisters Helen Webber and Irene Paiz, as well as her brother John Rivera along with many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Enrique and Annie Rivera and her brothers Ben, Tom,and Louis Rivera, sister Loyola Coleman, and Mary Romero. Though there is sadness at her passing, Patricia's spirit will continue to live on through the memories shared by those who loved her.
Services to celebrate the remarkable life of Patricia M Martinez have been arranged. A prayer service will be held on December 14, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Schrader Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home (2222 Russell Avenue, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001). The funeral service will take place on December 15, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church (314 E 6th St, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82007), followed by the burial at Olivet Cemetery (W Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, Wyoming 82001). A gathering will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church after the burial.
In honor of Patricia's life and her dedication to making a difference in her community, memorial donations can be made to the Davis Hospice Center and Saint Joseph's Catholic Church. The impact of these contributions will continue to touch the lives of those in need, just as Patricia did throughout her life.
Patricia M Martinez will forever be remembered for her love, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace.
