Peter Fekete

Mr. Peter (Pete) Fekete, 66, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2010, at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne. Pete was born April 10, 1944, in Budapest, Hungary, a son of Frank and Margit (Majoros) Fekete. Pete escaped from Hungary with his father during the 1956 Revolution and lived most of his life in San Francisco working first for several printing companies and later for a travel agency for a number of years. His many interests included traveling throughout the United States, running, playing chess, watching action movies, dancing and listening to music, particularly blues music and rock-n-roll. He was known by his friends as Dancing Pete and his favorite music group was ZZ Top, and he especially liked the song, Sharp Dressed Man. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Pete is survived by two children, Paul Fekete and wife, Becky, of Sandy, UT, and Britt Fairchild and husband, Steven, of Cheyenne; his sister, Judy Hixon of Ft. Smith, AK; four grandchildren, Cole, Dylan, Kristina and Wyatt; and his former wife, Shanna Fekete. Expressions of sympathy in Pete’s memory may be made to the Davis Hospice Center, 6000 Sycamore, Cheyenne, WY 82009, in recognition of their compassionate care and exceptional nursing staff.
