Ralph Allsop

June 2, 1938 — August 10, 2012

Ralph E. Allsop, 74, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012, at the Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, Texas. Mr. Allsop was born June 2, 1938, in Cowden, Illinois, a son of the late William J. and Aleva F. (Jones) Allsop. Ralph grew up in Illinois and earned his Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University. He taught school for two years and also worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a safety engineer, retiring after 31 years of faithful service. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying fishing, hunting and camping. He was also an avid motorcyclist and a die-hard St. Louis Cardinal fan. He was a member of Farmington Lodge #192, A.F. & A.M., a 32˚ Master Mason, and a member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria. Ralph will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, and he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne (Brandt) Allsop of Cheyenne; two sons, Monti Allsop and wife, Pamela, of Cheyenne, and Eric Allsop and wife, Brunella, of Houston, TX; his granddaughter, Camille Allsop of Cheyenne; five brothers, Carl Allsop of Cowden, IL, Lloyd Allsop of Benton, KY, Lee Allsop of Shelbyville, IL, Don Allsop of Shelbyville, IL, and Roger Allsop of Cheyenne, WY; and his sister, Patricia O'Grady of Cheyenne. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charles Allsop and Dale Allsop. Visitation will be private. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Galen Huck officiating. A Masonic service will immediately follow. Expressions of sympathy in Ralph's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633, or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2211 North Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.
