Mr. Ralph L. Buell, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died October 1, 2014, at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital. Mr. Buell was born April 29, 1930, in Buffalo, Wyoming, a son of the late Miles and Helen (White) Buell. A grandson of a Wyoming pioneer family, he attended college in Arizona and entered a rodeo on a classmate's dare. In 1962, he won Cheyenne Frontier Days and became the World Champion Bareback Bronc Rider. He won numerous rodeo championships and also owned and operated Buell Painting and Wallpapering for 36 years. He was a life member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, the Cheyenne County Club, a former volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels, and he was inducted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Museum. Ralph is survived by his wife, Barbara Buell of Cheyenne; children, Jacquetta, Sharon, and Brenda; two step-children, Sean and Shanaan; one step-grandchild. Private family services will be held at a later date with burial to be held in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo. Cremation by Schrader Funeral Home.
