Rees Johnson

Rees A. Johnson, 89, of Cheyenne passed away at home of natural causes December 30, 2018. Rees was born July 5, 1929 in Archer, Idaho to Carl and Geraldine Johnson. He married Norma Freeman on July 5, 1953 in Elko Nevada. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City, Latter-Day Saint, temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Monterrey Heights Ward. Rees was active in the Boy Scouts of America for over 50 years. Rees served in the United States Navy, he served his hitch on a destroyer the USS Brownson in the Mediterranean. He was retired from Little America Hotel as the maintenance manager. Rees is survived by his wife, Norma Johnson of Cheyenne, WY; children, Jef (Vickie) Johnson of Draper, UT, Rex (Marita) Johnson of Puyallup, WA, Roy Johnson of Ft. Collins, CO, Kirk (Stacey) Johnson of Spanish Fork, UT and Norma "Nibs" (Mike) Butterfield of Cheyenne, WY; 16 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2nd, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, January 3rd, 9:00-9:30 a.m. in the Relief Society Room of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Stake Center (309 Western Hills Blvd. Cheyenne), followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home.
