Rena Holmes

Mrs. Rena (Williams) Holmes, 80, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Rena was born February 16, 1935, in Greenland, Arkansas, a daughter of the late Guy S. and Ruby (Hembree) Williams . Rena graduated from Cheyenne High School on May 28, 1953. She married Roy Holmes on February 12, 1956. She worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company for 40+ years as a supervisor. Her many interests included traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, drawing, painting; and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was also involved with the Cowgirls of the West, Antique Tractor Club, Oak Spokes, Cheyenne High School Class of 1953, and the Pioneer Club. Rena is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy Holmes; sons, Ron and Rick Holmes; daughter, Rita Helgeson (Rod); grandchildren, William (Karri), Sabrena, Michael (Tina), Hailee (Josh), Ryan, and Rebecca; numerous great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill (Barbara) and Bob (Jean) Williams; sisters, Virginia Fenske and Lynda (Enoch) Baumgardner; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and a son, Russell Holmes. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home. A memory service will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 12th at 10:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home with Pastor Jason King officiating. An interment service will be held at Cheyenne Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow in the Schrader Reception Center.
