Rhonda Woods

Rhonda S. Woods, 57, passed away from colorectal cancer at the Davis Hospice Center on February 25, 2016. Rhonda was born in Port Hueneme, CA on April 20, 1958, but spent her childhood in Glen Karn, OH. In 1978, Rhonda joined the Air Force Reserves which led to her meeting her husband, Michael D. Woods. They were married in 1979. They were assigned to several locations before arriving in Cheyenne in 1996. Rhonda worked as a medical transcriptionist and secretary for the US Air Force for 23 years before retiring. Rhonda was also an EMT and volunteered for District 8 Fire Department and CFD Cowboy Medics. Rhonda was passionate about many things. Over the years her hobbies included bowling, skiing and CFD. But her last and most passionate love was her horse. Rhonda is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Lisa M. Woods (Jeffery Young) of Cheyenne, and her son, Jon C. Woods (Sandra Talamantez) of San Antonio TX. Rhonda has five grandchildren, Joseph M. Bailey, Geoffory S. Saur and Guinevere J. Saur of Cheyenne, plus Michael S. Woods and Daniella M. Woods of San Antonio TX. Also surviving her is her father, Jim Glunt of Kansas City, KS; her brothers, Leland K. Whitehead of New Paris, OH, and Cary A. Whitehead of Russell Springs, KY. A memory service will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family asks friends to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
