Mr. Richard J. "Dick" Paiva, 84, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away early Tuesday morning, July 29, 2014, at the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Mr. Paiva was born February 13, 1930, in Danvers, Massachusetts, a son of the late Manuel and Lucy (Oliver) Paiva. Dick served in the United States Army. He worked as a painter and carpenter in the construction industry and was known as a "jack of all trades". He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Gail (Cabrini) Paiva of Cheyenne; a daughter, Sandy Paiva of Cheyenne; a brother, Robert Paiva of Pueblo, CO; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Paiva; a daughter, Theresa Loveland; one brother; and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Schrader Funeral Home, 2222 Russell Ave. with a memory service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Chapel at Schrader Funeral Home. Father Carl Gallinger will officiate. An interment service will be held in Olivet Cemetery.
