Robert Edward Baumhover, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on April 6, 2025, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the age of 88. Bob was born on April 1, 1937, in Carroll, Iowa to Edward Aloysius and Edith (Schrad) Baumhover.
Bob graduated from Wall Lake Community Schools in 1955. He embarked on a lifelong journey in agriculture, first as a farmer and cattle feeder in Iowa before moving on to serve with the USDA Farm Services Agency in Wyoming.
Bob and family moved from the green corn and soybean fields of Iowa to the windswept plains of Wyoming where he continued to grow an envious green lawn, flower beds, vegetable garden and shelter belt of trees. You can take the farmer out of Iowa, but not the farmer out of Robert! Bob had a passion for playing cards and cherished moments spent with family and friends. In retirement, he found fulfillment in woodworking and tackling various projects around the house.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Ann (Farquhar); his children, Katie Nolan (John), Andy, and James. He was a proud grandfather to Anabelle, Brandt, and Sivanna. He is also survived by his brother, Ronald; brothers-in-law Frank, Vince, Mike, and Paul; and sisters-in-law Kathy, Paula, and Becky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, five sisters, and a brother-in-law. Their memories remain intertwined with Bob's own, a testament to the family ties that shaped his life.
His spirit will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Bob’s legacy lives on through the love and stories shared by his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the American Heart Association or Cheyenne Botanic Gardens in Bob's name.
