Robert Douglas Chandler, affectionately known as "Bob," was born on April 14, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia. He passed away peacefully in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on January 13, 2025, surrounded by his beloved children.
Bob led a distinguished career as a Military Cook, dedicating two years to the Army and proudly serving for 20 years in the United States Air Force. His commitment to duty and service to his country exemplified his character, which was marked by kindness, love, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was a man of quiet strength, often finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
In addition to his military service, Bob achieved two associate degrees, underscoring his dedication to lifelong learning. His interests extended beyond academia; he was an avid stamp collector, passionately pursuing this hobby with enthusiasm.
Above all, Bob's proudest accomplishments were his family. He is survived by his loving daughters, Darla Chandler and Wendy Shrove, along with his son-in-law, Bryan Shrove. His legacy continues through his son, Robert D. Chandler Jr. along with all of his five grandchildren Jennifer Turpin (Jerry), Ryan Chandler(Karissa),Amanda Padilla(Fred), Christa Luhman(Steve) and Zackary Chandler. He leaves behind ten great-grandchildren: Jordan, Damien, Thomas, Ryder, Bryanna, Taylor, Walker, Lucas, Fred Jr., and Grayson.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Chandler of 60 years and his son, Brian Chandler. His passing marks the end of a life well-lived, but his spirit and values will forever resonate within those he loved and cherished. In joining his eternal partner, Patricia, Bob leaves behind a profound legacy of love and dedication to family that will be treasured forever.
