Robert Glotzer

December 28, 1949 — August 13, 2016

Robert Allan Glotzer, 66, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in Chicago, Illinois, following a struggle with Wegener's Granulomatosis Vasculitis Disease. Robert was born December 28, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Stanley and Lorraine Glotzer. As a young man, Robert played football and baseball in high school. He was also in theatre arts and had dreamt of being a sports writer. Hailing from upstate New York, Bob was devoted to the Syracuse Orange and was also an avid fan of many sports. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from C.W. Post University in Long Island, New York. He worked as a financial advisor and loved to help his clients reach their financial goals and plan their legacy. When his girls were young, he served as a "homeroom mother" for his two daughters. His lifelong interests in sports led him to organize several fantasy football leagues, and he continued to play softball into his 60s. His other interests included serving as a board member of the Boys and Girls Club, volunteering with Special Olympics, and was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Synagogue and Congregation for 30 + years. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and brother, and for his great laugh and huge smile. His family knows that "wherever they are, he and dad are starting a new poker game". He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Liebenow Glotzer; and his four children; Heather Glotzer, Thomas Cash (Caitlin), Ilana Glotzer, Tiffany Cash (Lee); brother, Jerry Glotzer (Cheryl); nephew Benjamin Glotzer; niece Amanda Mariglia; and numerous cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Lorraine Glotzer and his brother, Howard. Robert's life will be celebrated on August 21, 2016 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Depot with Stevie Glotzer and Soul Sacrifice playing a tribute to Santana. A sharing of memories and a reception will follow from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Glotzer residence at 612 East Longhorn Road. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, P.O.
